Units work fine. Agree the remote unit battery door screws should be larger OR design cover for easier access. You must sync all remotes at start-up of base unit or pull the batteries and start over.

Review:
The one I bought wouldn't even receive the signal from the remote when it was right next to the base unit. Base unit appeared to be working; remote transmission LED would light. But the base didn't show a signal received on any channel. (I tried all three channels on the remote, and cycled through the base unit's channels each time just to be sure.)

Lousy quality control, no doubt; but I'm hardly going to send the unit back to Taylor on my dime just to get a replacement.

Product was exactly what I wanted. One nice feature is the 3 ft wire that can attach to the remote sensor to offer even more flexibility to the placement of the sensor.

Review:
I purchased my Taylor until several months ago, and to date it has performed extremely well. The indoor temperature is usually pretty close to the readout on the thermostate, and the outside unit appears to provide pretty accurate readings as well.

I thought I would check out to see if I could find any additional remote units (mine will accept up to 3 of them)for other locations around the house. I have one unit in the garage, and I ran the cord out the backdoor. It got cold over the winter (-30ish) and the unit performed well, but maybe that is because I keep the actual unit in the garage and just run the cord outside. I don't think the remote would handle temperatures that cold and still be able to perform.

Review:
I made the mistake of buying 3 sets of these. None of them work at more than 10 feet. Not one. These are junk and you should NOT buy any Taylor product.

After installing high end AAA batteries in all 6 units (3 base units and 3 remote units) and making sure they were all reading, I put them outside and throughout my house only to see they didn't pick up the signals!!

Turns out at ~25 feet inside the house (so at ~67 degrees) with line of sight between the units, not one of the base units picks up even one of the remote units. Anything more than 10' away without obstruction in warm weather doesn't seem to work for this product. I tried the remote units outside and only one of the 3 base units will pick up only 1 of the remotes at 15' through a double pane window. The other remotes don't register on any of the 3 base units and the one remote only gets received by one of the 3 base units.

UPDATE: Taylor sent me 3 more new in package units with exactly the same result

There are other issues with these units as well. They're really badly designed (should be AA batteries instead of AAA), bigger screws in the remote unit battery compartment, etc, etc., etc). But clearly the biggest is ALL -SIX- SETS DIDN'T WORK AT ALL CLOSE TO THEIR SPECIFICATIONS OF 100 FOOT RANGE.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!
